Weekend Thoughts

Posted on 08:03 by Unknown
It's nice to be able to sit on the deck with my coffee and computer and reminisce about the weekend. I really enjoyed my return to Zion Baptist Church (ZBC) in Cainsville MO. We were trying to figure out how long it had been since my last visit; I was thinking around eight years. One of the members said that he knew exactly how long it had been because I visited his wife in the hospital after the birth of their little girl--she is 6.

Although this was only my third trip to ZBC, it really does feel like a sort of homecoming. It is a small congregation with a huge heart for serving the community in the name of Jesus. I really love their pastor. He is a simple, hard working man that runs his business and pastors a rural church. He loves his Lord, loves his flock and loves serving others. Not surprisingly, the church has taken on the heart attitudes of loving God, loving each other and serving the community.

It's a pretty sweet fellowship.

There are so many thoughts running through my head this morning about the weekend that it is very hard to organize them into any orderly post. I think I'm going to just write them out in bullet form and expound on them as the thoughts come to mind.

*This was the thirteenth year of the Zion Gospel Jubilee.
Several music groups from the area (and some individuals) come to sing on an outdoor stage under a big tent. The event normally begins around 1pm on Saturday and lasted until around 10:30 at night with a break for an awesome dinner. (They smoked about 200 pounds of beef brisket and pork butts.) Sunday morning had an outdoor service under the tent followed by lunch and more music. This year, they added the Friday night session with music and magic--my part in the weekend. I also shared twice on Saturday (once in the afternoon, once in the evening) and preached the message on Sunday morning.

*The groups that come to sing look forward to this event.
This year's groups had all been to the Jubilee before. The event is well advertised and people come from some distance to enjoy the music. There was great talent singing praise to our God.

*Life isn't always what we've bargained for.
When you get in a mix of God's people, you find that there are a lot of suffering Christians. It's a myth that those that follow Jesus have great lives. We do have eternal life, but often times our earthly journey can be difficult and lonely. There were times that my heart hurt for the stories of struggle that were shared.

*We are family.
One of the things that always amazes me is the instant bond of fellowship with believers from another congregation. At a family reunion, you can often tell that the people there are apart of your family clan by certain physical characteristics. When meeting with fellow followers of Jesus, there are also characteristics that lead you to believe that we are of the same family.

*Other contacts.
I also had the opportunity to visit with some old friends that lived in the area (by in the area, I mean about 40 minutes away). I enjoyed getting to visit with them in their home and also saw a few other people that I have shared ministry with in the past.

*Blessings of service.
I'll be on a bit of a high for a few days. The blessings of service are grand. I know that this weekend will carry me into the week with a grand feeling and positive attitude. I have another program tomorrow night and am preaching on Sunday in Springfield. It sounds really busy and like I'm doing a lot of work, but the truth is that it's too much fun to be considered work.

*Random thought--
If it turns out that I'm going to keep the del Sol much longer, I'm going to have to put some work into it to make it more serviceable and more comfortable for long trips.

*Final thought (for now)--
There are a lot of hurting people out there. Some suffer in silence and in secret while others are more open about their pain. They need a bit of encouragement and love today. If you know of somebody that is carrying a burden, lend them a hand today. Call them. Offer them a time of rest or a moment that they can set aside their troubles and enjoy a short time of peace with a friend.
For those that suffer in silence, take care to be kind to everybody you encounter. Be a positive influence at work or school. Be kind and courteous to strangers. Smile often. Speak words of encouragement. Show the love of God in all you do.

God loves you.
Jesus died for you.

Am I really an enigma or a conundrum?

Posted on 08:20 by Unknown
Dictionary.com defines an enigma as: a person of puzzling or contradictory character.
And conundrum as: anything that puzzles.

I've been called both of these in the past. While I understand that I fit into few boxes, I find it interesting that so many of us still try to put people into a nice, neat, descriptive box. I say us because I am also sometimes guilty of making broad assumptions based on little information about a person.

I can sort of understand why many of my religiously conservative friends would assume that I hold their same political views, but find it interesting that my none of my politically liberal friends expect me to have any particular religious views and aren't at all surprised that I am a Bible-believing, born-again Christian.

I appreciate those that are able to simply shake their heads and say that I am an enigma or that they find my beliefs puzzling and do not judge me but talk to me about how I can agree with them on many issues and disagree on others that they feel are tied together. For those that are willing to talk to me (rather than just disagree with me) I think that I have been able to share what I believe and how I think in a way that they can understand me a little bit better.

However, the comments that birthed the idea behind this post were not rooted in political ideologies nor religious philosophies. It was simply people that were surprised at certain "likes" that didn't fit their idea of John. It actually makes me smile sometimes.

For example: one person (not the first) seemed shocked that I was a UFC fan and am looking forward to going to the Hometown Throw-down in Milwaukee with my son. Chris says that it's a redneck sport like NASCAR. I think that's an insult to both (but figure that she probably meant it that way!).

Another "I never knew that about you" thing that I get has to do with my love for peanut butter. I'll put peanut butter on just about anything. I have to admit that my latest greatest peanut butter combination wasn't my idea. I like to think that I was the inspiration behind the idea, though. A co-worker brought me a sample of his creation, knowing that I was going to love it. He was right. And everybody that has been brave enough to try it has liked or loved it!

On our recent missions trip, I was with the ladies that went to the store for food and grabbed a handful of jalapeno peppers. Back at our base, I cut a couple in half, cleaned out the seeds and filled them with peanut butter. Soon I was preparing the rest of them and the few peppers were gone in no time! A day later, one of the women presented me with another small bag of peppers. When I brought them into the lunch room, it was one of the guys that really liked the peanut butter peppers that took the knife and went to work preparing the whole bunch of them. I think I had one!

If you haven't been following Out of My Hat since the beginning and haven't read some of the posts that give more information into my puzzling character, you can check out these past posts:

And of course, if you want to know me, just peruse any of my past ramblings. I am the guy the writes this stuff. They come out of the character of John.

A Timely Re-run

Posted on 06:24 by Unknown
It's a week before Easter Sunday so I thought I would re-run a post from several years ago. I know that there are a number of new readers here at Out of My Hat due to the expansion of different social media forums.

Some of you may remember the Easter Cookies. For those that don't, here is the link.
Enjoy (and let me know if you try these).

Completely Irrational

Posted on 20:29 by Unknown
Happy Pi Day!

Pi is probably the most well known of all irrational numbers. Since it begins with 3.14, March 14th (3-14) is often referred to as pi day.

For those that are not into mathematics (rational or irrational), an irrational number cannot be expressed as a ratio of numbers.
For example:
2 can be expressed as 2/1 and is a rational number.
4.5 can be expressed as 9/2 and is a rational number.
Even .33333333... (3 repeating) can be expressed as 1/3 and is a rational number.

Irrational numbers never repeat as a decimal number and cannot be expressed as a fraction (a ratio of numbers).

From one site on irrational numbers comes this story:

History of Irrational Numbers

Apparently, Hippasus (one of Pythagoras' students) discovered irrational numbers when trying to represent the square root of 2 as a fraction (using geometry, it is thought). Instead he proved you couldn't write the square root of 2 as a fraction and so it was irrational.

However, Pythagoras could not accept the existence of irrational numbers, because he believed that all numbers had perfect values. But he could not disprove Hippasus' "irrational numbers" and so Hippasus was thrown overboard and drowned!

And I thought I had some tough teachers!

St.Louis, Schlafly Bottleworks, Iron Barley and more...

Posted on 06:45 by Unknown
I'm phone blogging again this morning. We'll see how it goes.

I'm up ahead of the rest of the gang and enjoying a Starbucks Americano while they get that missing hour.

Aaron and Jenny are here from Chicago. Hannah managed to break away from college. Chris and I are here with Jenny's parents and her niece. Eight in all, the whole gang.

We met for lunch at the Schlafly Bottleworks. For those that are distressed that this is a brewery,  check out the menu on their website. (I'd link to it, but haven't figured that out on my phone, yet.) Wow! What a great meal!

After an afternoon of visiting and spending time in the hotel pool, we headed out for dinner at the Iron Barley in South City. This place would've fit the "Dives" category of the Diners, Drive Ins and Dives show that it was featured on. We we're seated in the "Underground" which means the basement.  You go outside, around back, through the kitchen entrance (the back door), and down the concrete stairs to the old basement converted to a bar with a few tables and a small area for a two man blues/bluegrass team. Between the owners, workers and clientele I felt like we had stepped into a backwoods biker bar.

Holy smokes! This was some of the best food ever!  We will definitely be back to this place!

We finished the day at Ted Drewes and then visiting some more at the hotel. We'll visit some more today and then we'll each make our way back to our normal lives. I think the eight of us have consumed enough food to feed a small village.

It's been a good weekend.  Time to wake 'em up and enjoy the kids for a few more hours before they leave for home and school.

Have a grand day.

UFC on Fox 6

Posted on 19:42 by Unknown
I've been told that it's out of character for me to be a UFC fan. I'm not sure why that is. Maybe it's because I'm old and fat and could never actually participate in a mixed martial arts competition of any kind. Maybe it's because it's such a violent sport and a preacher shouldn't have anything to do with watching or promoting that kind of brutality. Maybe it's just the most base level of human competition and we should have managed to evolve past the point of determining the best hand-to-hand combatant.

What ever the case may be, I happen to enjoy watching the fights.

It has been different since Aaron moved away. We used to enjoy fight nights at Buffalo Wild Wings. Sometimes Jenny would join us. Later, Hannah (and maybe a boyfriend) would watch the fights with me. I'm not sure that they really wanted to watch the fights with me, but it was a cheap date with dad buying all of the food, soft drinks and desserts for the several hours of the fights!

Maybe I'm just too old to be a fan since none of my contemporaries are ever interested, just the younger guys.

Well this weekend, I'm in Chicago to go to the UFC on Fox 6 with Aaron! It was my Christmas gift from Aaron and Jenny and I am really looking forward to it. I drove from Springfield MO to Chicago today and made it in time to go to the weigh-ins with Aaron. I left right after working the mid and grabbing a quick breakfast and a Starbucks Americano with an extra shot of espresso. I stopped for gas and White Castles (that's fuel for the car and ...well, if you're familiar with White Castles...) in St. Louis, caught a 20 minute nap and another Starbucks about an hour into Illinois, topped off the tank again before hitting Chicago and we made the 4 o'clock weigh in just before the first fighters came out!

We'll catch all of the preliminary fights tomorrow, too! The Facebook fights, the Fuel TV fights and the main card on Fox! I am really looking forward to this!

I don't know if I'll be blogging any more this weekend or not. I didn't bring my computer and I'm using one of the kids' computers while Aaron is out to pick up Jenny from a work party. I may text a status to Facebook from my dumb phone...then again, I may not.

I hope that you have a great weekend. I know that I will.

Out of My Hat(s)!

Posted on 13:47 by Unknown
In an internet meme that was going around my blogging circle four years ago calling for Ten Honest Things About John, I wrote that I like hats--not caps, hats.

For post number 800, I thought I would write about my hat--my favorite hat. The idea for a post about my hat came to me last Saturday at our Writers' meeting.

I stopped for a coffee at Starbucks on the way and the girl at the drive-up window made a comment about how she liked my hat. When I arrived at the meeting, one of the members also made a comment about it. Of course, I like getting compliments on my hat--especially from strangers, and I get them pretty often. Maybe the compliments are extra nice since Chris doesn't really care for my hat.

It is unusual in that it is a whole-hide leather cowboy hat. I bought it in Mexico over a decade ago and I have never seen another hat like it--even on subsequent trips to Mexico.

It is not a summer hat. One of the few things that I look forward to as fall approaches each year, is breaking out the "awesome hat" (a name given to it by one of Hannah's friends).

I have a variety of summer hats, too. They range from the rough, wear to the lake (and in the lake!) hat...

...to the everyday keep the sun off my face...

...to a little nicer straw.

I also have a winter felt dress hat.

And of course, the show prop wool top hat!

As always, thanks for stopping by at Out of My Hat.
And now you know what my hats look like!

Awesome Artwork!

I saw this on Google+ and had to find the YouTube link for it.
The artist has several other videos that are equally as impressive.

I have a hard time just drawing letters to write a legible note!
Enjoy.

It's Friday (that's the day before Saturday)!

Posted on 01:44 by Unknown
I'm reminding you that it's the day before Saturday so that you can be planning for our Be Nice to a Stranger Day. I do hope that you will participate and maybe even share your experience. I've made a couple of plans that involve people that aren't exactly strangers (and that's okay--you can, too), but I also plan on targeting a random stranger or two for an encouraging word or act of kindness. Let's have a great Saturday and make a few people smile!
If you haven't already shared this post with your friends, please do! The more people being nice, the better our world will be -- for a day, anyway!

____________________________

Saturday is also the day for our Ozarks Chapter of American Christian Writers' meeting. This is our "Lightning Writing" meeting which will challenge your creativity. If you are up for the writing challenge and live in the Springfield MO area, please consider coming to the meeting. You'll get a few starting sentences to choose from and about 45 minutes to write. This is always a fun meeting! Please come and join us.

____________________________

Wow! I had a voice mail today from my Congressman's office! I sent an e-mail with some suggestions for budget cuts and they actually called to talk about them. I'll call them back today. I encourage you to share your reasonable ideas with your reprehensatives, as well. Who knows? Maybe they're to the point of actually listening to their constituents!

Have a grand weekend!

Be Nice to a Stranger Day

Posted on 23:03 by Unknown
Just a thought...

How about if we make Saturday, January 12th, Be Nice to a Stranger Day?

It doesn't have to be a big deal. You don't have to spend any money. You don't even need to take a lot of time. It could be something as simple as returning a grocery cart to the store or placing it in the designated area for somebody that has kids in the car, or is older or just because you want to be nice.

Maybe you know of somebody that is lonely and could use a visit or a phone call. Maybe you could send a greeting card in the mail ... or greet your letter carrier with a treat of some kind. A kind word, a kind act...it's only one day. This coming Saturday. It doesn't even have to be a stranger. You can be nice to people you know, too. How about we just make it somebody that isn't expecting it. Let's just look forward to a weekend of being extra nice to people.

Who is up for the challenge?

I'm even giving you a few days to plan for it. You can buy your cards and get them in the mail to arrive on Saturday. You can plan to take somebody out to lunch or invite them over for dinner. You can watch the young children for a couple that doesn't get to go out often and can't afford a babysitter. Lots of ideas to share.

You can share your ideas here and commit to participate.
You can share this link on your social networks or e-mail it to your friends.
Saturday is the day!
Let's make people smile!

December Solstice

Posted on 10:47 by Unknown
It's been almost seven hours since the Earth past that point in its orbit where the days (in the northern hemisphere) start to get longer and the sun begins to make its way higher in our daytime sky. Having friends, relatives and blog readers that are in the southern hemisphere, it occurs to me that the name "Winter Solstice" really only describes the event for half of the Earth.

It's funny that I've never really thought about that before now. I guess the internet and regular contact with those that live Down Under and in other cultures around the world does, in fact, give one an awareness of how others see the world. Just as we look forward to longer, warmer days ahead, our friends from the south might be looking forward to some cooler temps as the sun's angle increases, the temps start to drop and they move towards their fall season.

Unfortunately, that whole radiant heat thing takes a few weeks before we really start to feel the difference. So we still have a few weeks where temps will get colder and they'll still have to deal with their hottest temps of the year. Maybe that's why the solstice marks the beginning of winter (or summer, depending on your location). I reality, shouldn't this mark the mid point of our respective seasons with greatest angle to the sun marking winter's halfway point and the least angle marking mid summer?

I actually look forward to this day and can understand why ancient cultures of the northern hemisphere celebrated it. The sun is returning to its warmer place in the sky. Pagan, Christian or simply Deist, that's something that we can all celebrate.

Sure, some will simply call it an annual event that is dictated by the science of the universe. However, I see the hand of a magnificent Designer that set it all in motion long ago. The size and temperature of the yellow dwarf star that anchors our solar system, the distance and slightly elliptical orbit of our planet, the angle of the axis that provides us with seasons and regulates temperatures to make the Earth hospitable to life, the moon that orbits the Earth providing tides to clean the oceans and circulate the waters; these things are far too complex to have happened by accident.

Saying that today is the first day of Winter is a little depressing. I rather like the idea of celebrating the first day of days getting longer and the slow return of the sun to its rightful and majestic place high in the summer sky. It really is no wonder that ancient cultures saw the sun as a god.

But I'm humbled to know that their god had a Creator, my God.
And my God has provided a way to know Him personally through His son, Jesus.
It's a good time to celebrate that, too!

Merry Christmas and Happy Solstice!

Music is for Everybody

Posted on 22:51 by Unknown
I love this video. I shared it on Facebook but also wanted to post it here at Out of My Hat for those of you that are not my Facebook "friends" list.

It is a great story of bringing music to a group of poor kids. A story of building instruments out of garbage. A story of recycling materials into instruments that make beautiful music. Please watch it ...

On the Road

Posted on 03:14 by Unknown
Giving myself a pass for today. Actually I'm up one post for the month anyways.
I'm heading out to preach at Shelburne baptist in Trenton MO this morning and will be at North Central Missouri College this evening. That's about 10 hours of drive time, one service, one dinner and show (with about 6hrs in between) before I'm home again.

Returning to Northern Missouri

Posted on 02:24 by Unknown
Hopedale Youth Project Eternity (HYPE) took a little break from our study of teens in the Bible and I got to share a few optical illusions and talk about deception--mostly self deception. It's weird how we can deceive ourselves. I mean, how can we lie to ourselves and be convincing enough that we believe the lie to be the truth? When you put it that way, it sounds impossible. And yet, we are skilled enough that we do it quite often. We also talked about following Jesus; about being disciples and about making disciples. It was a little bit of a continuation of Sunday's Bible study lesson.

*****

This weekend will find me travelling north to Trenton MO once again. I'll be spending Sunday morning at Shelburne Baptist Church and Sunday evening at the Baptist Student Union (BSU) on the campus of North Central Missouri College.

Sunday evening will be the Thanksgiving dinner that the BSU puts on every year and will be the third time that I've been asked to come and entertain and share the gospel with the students that come to dinner. Even though the day is a long one (9+ hrs of driving, morning service, evening dinner and several hours in between), I always enjoy the interaction with the students. Besides, I would drive a great distance for the opportunity to preach on any Sunday--anytime.

It's always nice to be asked back to a venue. Of course it does mean having to come up with some new effects to share. On the plus side of that, it's only a two year college so the audience rotates through quickly. I'm sure that at least one person will have a fun time (I always do)!

*****

I will get back to the apologetics next week. I think that I'll make that a weekly topic on sharing why you can trust what the Bible tells us about God, Jesus, heaven and hell.

Under the Weather

Posted on 12:46 by Unknown
I don't know if it's fall allergies or if I've moved to a sinus infection/cold. In any case I'm definitely a bit under the weather today and not in much of a mood to keep up with the daily blogging for November.

So I'm going to give myself a pass on writing today and just share a couple of sources for the phrase "under the weather" with you.

I've always enjoyed finding out how phrases and sayings came to be so here are just a couple of possible origins for "under the weather."

I'm Picking Another Fight!

Posted on 02:01 by Unknown
I've been off of the blog for a few days and I've been trying to be less controversial in my Facebook postings as well. Part of the reason is that people get really angry when I post things that they disagree with. By and large, people today take disagreement as a personal attack on their own intelligence and decision making ability. It doesn't have to be that way.

We all arrive at our personal preferences for a variety of different reasons--including personal taste. Our disagreements don't have to be ugly. Today, I want to engage in a subject of personal taste in an effort to demonstrate that we can disagree without being hateful.

The subject--fast food burgers!
Anti-fast food people and chicken lovers will have to wait for another day. This is about fast food burgers!
There are the national chains like McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, Hardee's (or Carl Jr.'s) and there are regional chains Jack in the Box, Whataburger, Five Guys', In and Out, etc.

Burgers can be topped with cheese, mushrooms, onion rings, bacon, guacamole, brisket, steak, pork and a host of other toppings. They can be small enough that it takes a dozen to make a man-sized meal or large enough to feed a family of four for a week in many areas of the world.

For our purposes today, we're talking strictly fast food--in a hurry, pull into the drive thru, order and drive away with your favorite company's entrant into the "how much fat can we fit between two pieces of bread and still get people to buy it" national endeavor.

Restaurant chain and favorite burger please...

Boycott

Posted on 05:07 by Unknown
There are a lot of boycott lists out there. I was going to list companies that are currently being boycotted by somebody, but found that there are really just too many.

Some are being boycotted because of their conservative stance on social issues, while others are being boycotted because of their liberal contributions to organizations that have a liberal stance on the same issues. Some are pro-labor. Some are anti-labor. Some organizations are boycotted, some countries are boycotted.

As a fan of etymology (study of word origins), I feel compelled to share the origin of the word boycott. As with many of our words, boycott comes from a name; Captain Charles Boycott. Wikipedia provides a great background which you can read here.

So I'm curious. What companies/brands/products/organizations do you boycott because of a political or social reason? And what companies to you go out of your way to support?

I'm really not wanting any hateful, hurtful or disparaging remarks about somebody else's lists and reasons, but feel free to share your own.

Maybe you're one of those that looks for a good product at a good price and don't really care what the company does with the profits that you've helped them earn. You can just leave that comment, too.

Let's get creative!

Posted on 08:48 by Unknown
Recently, a writer friend of mine posted a picture on Facebook with an encouragement for people to write a one paragraph story based on the picture. There were some great stories.

My friend, Tom Blubaugh, is the author of Night of the Cossack as well as several other devotions and Bible studies. (You can read my interview of Tom and his publisher here.)  I would imagine that he has more writer friends than I do, but I know that many of my readers are also pretty creative. I thought that it would be interesting to post a similar challenge.

Here's the picture I've chosen:

Your challenge, a one paragraph story to go with the picture. You can leave it as a comment here, on Out of My Hat, or as a comment on the Facebook link.

I am looking forward to reading your stories!

Schooled ... by teenagers!

Posted on 23:04 by Unknown
Funny, the things you can learn from kids...

I'm still thinking about the camp that I was at last week; 108 teenagers and about 108 degree temps. Having been a part of a few summer camps, I'll take the heat over rainy or stormy days every time. Most camps today have plenty of air conditioned buildings (not like the old days when I went to camp!) and there is always the pool or a lake to cool off in. But some of the things that this particular group of teens did really impressed me.

Some of them gave up their afternoon free time to go to local nursing homes to visit with the residents. One young boy actually told me that he was looking forward to it. His grandfather had passed away in a nursing home and his grandmother was now a resident in a home and he knew how much the visits would mean to the residents.

Other kids gave up some of their pool time to work around the grounds and give something back to the camp. Some stained decking, others broke down old beds and moved in new ones. Some built benches. Did I mention that it was over 100 degrees?

It's pretty easy to jump on the bandwagon that proclaims the next generation as a generation of takers or as having entitlement attitudes. But you couldn't do that around this group of young people. And they even seemed to genuinely enjoy themselves!

Great job, kids!

The Preacher That Didn't Preach

Posted on 12:06 by Unknown
Wow! Talk about your oxymoron. Most of the time you can't get a preacher to stop preaching. How rare is it that you can find one that doesn't even get started?

Last week I found myself in the awkward position of getting ready for an evening service at a youth camp but feeling led away from the message that I had prepared for the evening. It was the first full day of camp and I found the morning break out sessions to be very challenging. As a matter of fact, it was extremely unfortunate that there wasn't time in each of them to respond to the lessons that had been taught and learned.

The feeling that this situation needed to be rectified and the students needed the opportunity to respond to the messages they had already heard that day wouldn't go away. I have to say that it is hard to set aside a message that you've worked on and I often have a difficult time figuring out the direction that God is taking me. To be fair and in keeping with the theme of no masks, I have to admit that Tuesday evening's message was the one that I was least prepared for. Maybe it was God's way of letting me know that it was an unsatisfactory message or prepared in a manner unworthy of him. In any case, He took care of things.

I went ahead and opened with my "Jedi Mind Trick" (later wished that I would've skipped that, too) and then shared with the students the struggle that I had been having about preaching for the evening. So instead of preaching, I started my time with an invitation to respond to each of the morning workshops. The response was overwhelming.

All-in-all, the invitation time took more time than preaching would have. Students were talking quietly with adult leaders and praying at the altar for one another. As the band came back to the stage and brought us back to the place of worship in music, I slipped outside for a few moments. I was physically drained, emotionally exhausted. I'm still surprised at how draining preaching can be. Often times it's exhilarating. Sometimes it's exhausting. I was moved by the response of the kids -- not their response to me, their response to the Holy Spirit. I seriously doubt that there is much an old fat guy could say to these teens that would move them the way that were moved that night. Only the grace and mercy of a mighty God could do that.

It was a great week. I was so privileged to be called to be camp pastor for the week. Now to live out the challenges from the week. Yes, that's right. The challenges weren't just for the kids. They were for us, too.
Be real about your Christianity. Be "Christ"-like in all you do. Share the truth of the Bible: God loves you and Jesus died for you.

Do it.
Do it today.
